Yes, I am still alive. I have these horrible bouts of anti-social twit-ness where I become the most unproductive person ever. Anyway...

So what do I love about this piece? The purple. I love the color purple to death, but it's something of a hard color to pull off. I admit to not knowing much about color theory (okay, NOTHING about it), but purple has always stricken me as one of those colors that can easily go to either extreme. It seems like it's too something - too bright, too obvious, too subtle, too dark. Here, it's very pleasing to the eye - soft but not overly subtle. I love the way Zelda is colored; the gentle purple is very fitting for her character development at this point. She's more of a rosy lavender where Ghirahim is steely and cold. It's a pretty contrast.

I also really dig the nice little detail on Zelda's sleeve there. And the shininess on Ghirahim's armband.

OMG YOU LIVE! It's nice to hear from you again. Don't worry, I totally understand going into hiding every now and then, I do it myself, from time to time.

I like purple too! Originally, the color scheme for this was going to be lots of blue and black, but I thought purple looked best, since Zelda's coloring is rosy.

Ghirahim's armband....I must have re-colored that thing about 3 different times before I was happy with it. I love coloring shiny things, but for some reason I just couldn't color his stupid armband right this time.

Thanks for your comment :)

(Wow, that's a nice, shiny icon you have there.)

YES! I've really wanted to catch up with you and see how the move went and how everything's going. I've been something of an emotional trainwreck, but I think I'm getting better. My muse is so dead right now that it's not even funny.

I only like certain shades of purple (for instance, I'm not a huge fan of really dark or really blue-based purples) but the purples I like, I really like. Purple definitely worked here. Zelda is caught in that delicate balance of innocence and... I want to say corruption? So the rosiness with the sensuality of the purple works.

I know the feeling. "I JUST HAD THIS LIKE 5 SECONDS AGO, WHY CAN'T I DO IT." My video game life in a nutshell.

I really need to catch up on... everything. I feel so horrible, just not doing anything. And I haven't written at all, so now my writing is all rusty and ugly.
